Shows & Events

Throughout the year, Intrepid Theatre presents great live shows and special events in the Metro Studio and Intrepid Theatre Club. Here’s what’s coming up:

25th Annual Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival

august 25 – September 4, 2011

Various Venues

It’s the Victoria Fringe’s 25th anniversary! More than 60 international, independent performing companies will descend on the City of Gardens for eleven days and nights of comedy, drama, dance, spoken word, and physical theatre – over 400 performances in a dozen venues. Fringe-going is easy, fun and slightly addictive. Meet friends, artists and strangers in lineups, buy cheap tickets and see live shows, grab a bit or beer in between and figure out what you’ll see next. It’s the best part of the summer.

Die Roten Punkte

August 18, 19, 20 at 8PM, Metro Studio

Tickets ON SALE SOON:$20 (student+senior)/ $22 (regular)

Victoria’s favourite Berlin punk rock duo Astrid and Otto Rot are back for a limited three-night run as part of a world tour (in between Astrid’s visits to rehab). They will not be appearing at the Victoria Fringe this year, so this is your only chance to see them. “Pitch perfect pop parody, if there’s a fan club, I’m joining!” The Scotsman(*****). “Orgasmic rock-und-roll experience.” – Monday Magazine (*****).

2012 Season

Jan – Apr 2012, Metro Studio

Intrepid Theatre is well known for the Fringe and Uno Festivals, but at the beginning of the year we bring to the Metro Studio highly regarded international performers who are often touring to Canada’s prestigious stages such as the Habourfront Centre, Theatre Passe Muraille and the PuSh Festival in Vancouver.  The 2012 Season includes some unmissable cutting edge theatre such as Quebec City’s L’Orchestre d’Hommes-Orchestres (The One Man Band-Band) with their powerful tribute to the world of Tom Waits, in which six frenzied musicians use nearly 100 objects and invented instruments – from teacups to turkey-basters – to create madcap scenes of unbridled energy. And believe us, you’ve never seen Tom Waits performed like this.

“A grandiose spectacle of audacity and multidisciplinary magic.” – Voir Estrie
